Neepawa MB.- This morning, Titans’ General Manager/Head Coach, Ken Pearson, named the team’s Captain and Assistant Captains for the 2022-2023 season.
“I am very proud to announce this year’s leadership group. These 5 outstanding young men over the last two seasons proved they were more than ready and deserving”.
“The Captain of this team will be Cody Gudnason. A player can grow and develop over the course of a junior hockey season to the point that the player is almost unrecognizable at the end of the year. This is what happened with Cody over the last season. ”
Said Pearson.
“Off the ice, Cody is a high character, high integrity person, who is mature beyond his
years. He is very approachable, incredibly well respected by the players, has a great feel for the dressing room and is the first guy to pick a guy up if he falls. Everything that Cody does off the ice, he backs up on the ice. Not only is Cody a player I can rely on in every situation, and at any point in the game, but he is a great example of the total package of what it means to be a Neepawa Titan.”
Cody Gudnason had this to say, “It means a lot to be named the captain of the Titans. The organization has been amazing to me since they drafted me in 2018. I look forward to fulfilling a big role in the leadership group in my third season with the team. We have a great group of returning players, along with some newly signed prospects. I think we are going to be an exciting team to watch this year”.
Pearson had this to say about the 4 players named as assistants.
” These four young men will be great support for Cody, all of them are character kids and are ready to help lead this group on and off the ice in 2022-23″.
Brayden Michalchuk- ” I have nothing but great things to say about my time so far in Neepawa and the Titans, so to be named as an assistant captain is a true honour and special for me and my family”.
Will Highet- “I was a huge honour and achievement being named as an assistant last
year as a 19 year old and I look forward to being a leader this year. I look forward to helping lead this team on and off the ice in 2022-23″.
Cameron Trimble- ” I am very excited to join the leadership group here in Neepawa. I think we have a solid group of returning players and some great new recruits. I can’t wait to get started and be a part of something special this season”.
Josh Romanyk- ” It means a lot being named an assistant captain of such a great organization. I am extremely honoured for the opportunity to be part of the leadership group. I am looking forward to getting the season started”.
