100th Game For Will Highet

Tuesday night in Waywayseecappo will be a special night for nineteen year old forward, Will Highet. It will be Will’s 100th game. All coming wearing Neepawa Colours.

When asked about his time in Neepawa, Will had this to say.

“My time at Neepawa has been full of laughs and great memories with all the guys I’ve played with. Playing my 100th game is kind of a tribute to everyone who has supported me throughout my career.”

In 99 games Will has accumulated 24 goals, 19 assists and 59 penalty minutes. The fast skating, power forward has grown into a reliable 200 foot player who has succeeded in all situations. He has also added the responsibility of being an assistant captain this year.

“It was a rough start in Neepawa my first year but we had good leadership that I looked up to. I have tried to bring that to the team this year and pushed for us to be a fast physical team. I’m looking forward to more games with this team.” Said Highet

Head Coach and General Manager, Ken Pearson had this to say about Will’s time in Neepawa.

“Will has been a part of our building blocks since the first season he came here. He is a quiet leader, is well liked in the room and is very coachable. As he continues to progress, so does our team.”

Looking towards the game on Tuesday night, it will be another tough test in Waywayseecappo. The Wolverines currently hold down top spot in the West with a 25-9-2 record.

“They’re going to be a fast moving team on the big ice they’ve got in Wayway. We can match that intensity if we get into the physical side and move the puck up the ice quickly right from minute 1.” Will said
